"Rotation Violetta 2" by Susan Springer
4th Annual Sculpture Invitational
Illahe Studios & Gallery will host our 4th Annual Sculpture Invitational throughout the month of August. Please join us for our opening reception during First Friday Art Walk, August 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm. We are delighted to be settled into our new building and feel fortunate to have such an amazing space to showcase this spectacular exhibit!
This showcase of work from five local and regional artists celebrates sculpture in a variety of forms, techniques and materials. This year’s show promises to provide a versatile display of works ranging from dynamic and abstract, to whimsical and fun!
Gallery owner, Susan Springer, presents her most recent ceramic sculpture, La Rotacion Violeta, an abstract, playful depiction of a dancing couple in close embrace.
"Rhino" by Penelope Dews
Penelope Dews shows her Anagama kiln, wood fired sculptures, including “Rhino,” a piece based on a 12th century BC Chinese Bronze.
John and Robin Gumaelius work together to create magic in their figures using clay and metal. This collaboration produces truly unique pieces, lavished with intricate detail and a surreal nature.
M. Julian Isaacson displays his marble sculptures, including “Love and Life,” a classic, beautiful piece.
Cheryl Williams shows her bright, striking sculptures in clay and metal. These modern pieces are distinguished by simple and elegant lines.
Visit us throughout the month of August for this special showcase of sculpture!
